Maid On The Spot Inc. started as Simms Cleaning Service back in 2006. We incorporated in 2011 as Maid on the Spot Inc. We are so excited to celebrate over 17 years of business!

How many maids do you have?

Are your maids insured, bonded & background checked?

Yes, all employees undergo a criminal background check prior to employment. All maids are insured and bonded to perform your house cleaning.

Do your maids have workers’ compensation insurance?

Yes, it is required by law for all employees.

Are your maids employees or sub-contractors?

All of our maids are employees of Maid on the Spot Inc. We take pride in our extensive interviewing, training, and inspection process. All of our employees are insured, bonded, and background checked for the ultimate peace of mind. We also back every employee with our 100% satisfaction guarantee!

I've booked my first cleaning. Now what?
Do you send one maid or a team?

Most cleanings are performed by individual maids or a team of two or even three maids. If we send a team, the billable labor hours will not change from what you have agreed to. Example: One maid for six (6) labor hours will be in your home for 6 clock hours. Two maids booked for six (6) labor hours will be split between the two maids, for a total of 3 clock hours.  If your home requires it, we will assign as many maids as necessary to complete your job.

Will you use my cleaning products instead of yours?

Sure. Just tell us what to use and where and we will be happy to do so. Please provide these instructions when completing your online booking.

What do you clean?

We clean whatever needs it. We are professional cleaners who have great judgement. We have S.O.P.’s, Guiding Principles and a Checklist but the key to successful house cleaning is training and empowering each maid to make intelligent decisions designed to maximize your value. Our maids know how to make an impact and will do whatever it takes to give you a great cleaning. We don’t ignore things because they are not on our Checklist. We clean your house and (almost) everything in it. Yes, we do that!

Why do you recommend a Deep Cleaning for all new customers?

The Deep Cleaning removes build-up, spots and scuffs, and brightens surfaces. It involves more detailed cleaning of all the items in your home including wet wiping, spot removal of doors, baseboards, window frames, sills, locks, switch plates, and so much more. The goal is to get all the surfaces clean.

Once clean, we can return on a regular basis and professionally maintain your home. Instead of wiping all your surfaces every time, we will keep them clean primarily with our feather duster. If new spots, prints, or scuffs appear, we will spot wipe those as needed. This process is efficient and time tested. Book your Deep Cleaning and enjoy an amazingly clean home while having peace of mind that you will be saving in the long run.

Remember, it is of limited value for a new client to select a Standard Cleaning for the first visit, instead of a Deep Cleaning. The reason being, dry dusting will not remove stuck on dust, hair, spots, and scuffs but there will not be enough time to wipe everything and fix the problem.

When do I need a Build-Up Cleaning?

A Build-Up Cleaning is for homes that have not been thoroughly cleaned in 6 months or longer. It is the same tasks as a Deep Cleaning but allots extra time for more challenging situations. If your home needs a Build-Up Cleaning but you choose a Deep Cleaning there will not be enough time to complete your job. If you think you might need a build-up clean please review the conditions below.

You need a Build-Up Cleaning if you have:

  • Heavy dust build-up blanketing surfaces.
  • Kitchen has excessive grease and prints everywhere including cabinets, stove and floor.
  • Bathroom has excessive soap scum, water stains, grout and caulk discoloration, toilet stained.
  • Pet hair everywhere and has collected in clumps under and around items touching the floor.
  • Excessive personal belongings and/or collectibles that encumber the cleaning.

What don't you clean?

Your maid is not allowed to clean the following items:

  • Computer and television screens
  • Antiques, valuables, collectibles
  • Animal habitats like fish tanks
  • Broken or fragile items

Our maids are not equipped to:

  • Use ladders (maids have step stool and telescoping dusters for high dusting)
  • Clean exterior windows (unless easily accessible without ladder)
  • Steam carpet cleaning

We are sorry but we can’t clean for you if your home has any of these things below:

  • – Insect or mouse infestation
  • – Animal waste
  • – Excessive odor or garbage
  • – Communicable diseases

Finally, we are leery of wiping your painted walls, especially flat paint, on our own. This is because their is a risk of a possible color or sheen change when seen from certain angles. If the build-up on the wall is so bad that it is obvious it is better to risk the possible sheen change then leave the wall that way, then our maid will certainly clean it.

If you request wall washing, we are happy to wash your walls but you assume the liability of any color or sheen changes.

Did you know:

The glossier the paint the better it is to clean. Flat paint is the most likely to be affected by wet wiping.

What if I want a service that is not listed in the online booking?

No problem. Just let us know how we can help and we will perform the service on an hourly basis. Just book an hourly cleaning and tell us what to do.

Can you guarantee arrival times?

No, but we try very hard to arrive at the time you choose. We have two time slots: Morning and Afternoon arrival. Morning arrival is between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. Afternoon arrival is between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Online booking does offer you the chance to select a more specific time slot within the Morning or Afternoon window. Please select the time that is best for you, and if at all possible, we will arrive at your selected time.

Can you guarantee the same cleaner every time?

We try very hard to honor cleaner requests. All accounts are assigned a primary cleaner and then a back-up. We understand how important it is to our clients to have the same cleaner(s) every time. Our scheduling process is designed to accommodate this arrangement. If you prefer a particular cleaner, please email or call the office and we will make your preferred cleaner your primary cleaner and send them whenever possible.

I've booked my first cleaning. Now what?

Thank you for your booking!

Here are your next two steps:

First, you will be encouraged to create your very own Secure Client Portal, this is where you can make edits to your up-coming cleaning. You can make any changes necessary with the click of a button, 24-7!

Second, you will see a link to take an important survey about your home. This is where we get all the details we need to meet your cleaning needs and make you aware of our policies and procedures.

What if something is damaged or broken?

What if something is damaged or broken?

If any accidental breakage or damage occurs Maid on the Spot Inc.  will notify you immediately. In most cases, we have our employees photograph what was damaged or broken and have them report this to the office as soon as possible.

As stated in our terms and conditions, we assume no liability for damage due to pictures not hung securely, items with unstable bases, floating shelves, items not secured properly, etc.

What if I want a different maid?

Our job is to match our maids with clients. If you don’t like a particular maid for any reason just let us know and we will not assign that maid to your account.

What if I am not happy with my cleaning?

We are sorry, we are not always perfect the first time but we will always return and make things right. Please contact the office ASAP and let us know what was wrong and when we can return to re-clean. We stand behind our work and will do whatever it takes to make you 100% satisfied.

We are sorry, but there are no refunds or discounts given if you are dissatisfied with your cleaning.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You can manage your own cleaning schedule online. Just log into the client portal we sent you by email and cancel your cleaning. Unfortunately, if your cancellation is within 48 hours of the scheduled cleaning there is a $50 cancellation fee. Other than that, there is never a contract binding you to future service and you can cancel anytime.

What if I love your services and want to use you again?

Great, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Please select recurring service on your booking form when you book your first cleaning and we will discount your future cleanings by 25%.
